Geyser

Philip loved the geyser erupting...

Reykjavik! I LOVE Iceland.

Had such a great time in Iceland. Jokingly I made a list of things to see:
1. Whale
2. Puffin
3. Volcano (walk on erupting volcano)
4. Glacier (wanted to lick)
5. Waterfall
6. Modern Art Museum
7. Geothermal pool (bathe)

Oddly enough, I accomplished all these things plus:
4. (Didn't lick glacier because it was filthy)8. Halldor Laxness' house (and car) (I know he's dead)
9. Elf house
10. Geyser erupting
11. Tectonic Rift (walked in the space between Europe and North America)
12. World Cup final match in the town square in Icelandic

A few pics from the trip...

Berliner art

While I didn't take many pictures in Berlin, this particular piece of art really struck me. Otto somebody (I remember Kitko) did this.

Berlin's Wall

Remnants of The Wall are housed in East Berlin and open to artwork. It seems these are repainted every year or two. It seems unfortunate they didn't retain any of the original graffiti yet it is.

Museum of Contemporary Art

The Barcelona MOCA had the worst collection of art I've ever seen. Seriously. It was housed, however, in one incredible building!

Barcelona

I tried to find a couple moments where the beauty overwhelmed me, and one was the view from the top of La Padrera. I love the apartment buildings and the long view to the mountains.

Barcelona

I spent the last week of my fiftieth year in Barcelona, a city I found to be uninteresting. No matter how far I traveled I was never able to leave the masses of tourists. Where is the actual city? The main highlight was La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's cathedral. It is like being in a truly alien environment. The interior is simply crazy beautiful.
