November travel 2007

Here are my pix from Buenos Aires and Uruguay. Keep in mind I take so few pictures that it's almost not worth carrying the camera.

Colonia Del Sacramento

We spent a night in Uruguay's famous colonial city. The weather was chilly as we whipped around town in our rental golf cart with wild dogs chasing us and Jane at the helm. As is the custom there, we dressed in old-timey clothes and pretended to be frontiersmen. One of us desperately wanted to be a frontierswoman, but they were having none of it.

Recoleta Cemetary

Coming from New Orleans, this isn't as impressive as it is for many. However, the large volume of cats living in the cemetery is both interesting and an interesting counterpoint to the large number of dogs running the streets in the city. Evita's grave is somewhat unassuming (other than the plaque that reads EVITA!).

Four lollies

Iguazu Falls, Argentina

Lots of water. Really.

Iguazu Falls, Argentina

We chose the boat ride at the falls, taking us upriver through some nice rapids and then through the falls a few times to make sure everyone was good and wet. Some of us removed our pants on the boatride, and the rest of us chose the more graceful approach.
